Wireless Leash Keeps Your Phone From Wandering Off

Photo: ZOMM
Ever leave your phone behind? Put it down, walk away to get something and completely forget where you phone is? Then spend the next 20 minutes searching your house or office to find it… knowing that calling from another phone won’t do much good because you have the thing set to silent so you can sext during the weekly sales meeting? That doesn’t have to happen anymore.
Clip a half-dollar-sized ZOMM to your key chain or backpack, or drop it in your pocket, then pair it with your Bluetooth-enabled phone or other device. It’ll flash, vibrate and even sound an alarm if you start to walk away and leave your phone behind. (You can set the notification distance from short to long, so that it doesn’t go off if you’re just heading to the kitchen for some coffee.)
The $99.95 ZOMM also doubles as a fully-functioning hands-free speaker with noise-canceling microphone for making calls in the car, and it can also be programmed to make a call to the contact of your choice in an emergency, even if your phone is out of reach.
It works in reverse too. With the myZOMM app, you can use your phone to locate lost keys (if the unit is clipped to your key chain), and geo-tag the location of your car so you can find it in that crowded parking lot. On the negative side, you can no longer use the excuse “I couldn’t find my phone” when your girlfriend calls and you don’t answer.
